First of all, congratulations on making the excellent decision to join the Trillium Miata Club!
You are now part of a fantastic community of Miata owners and drivers, whose only goal is to enjoy our wonderful cars with those that feel the same passion for the road that you do. The Mazda MX-5/Miata is the world’s best selling sports car of all time for very good reasons, but mainly because it offers the most top-down sports car fun for the least money, while offering outstanding reliability.
So, now that you have become a Trillium member, now what?
Well, the first thing you should do is to get involved. We are organized to take into account that some people have more time than others – that’s why we have so many events. You don’t have to come out to all of them, but as a new member we suggest that you try and come out to a Monthly Meeting as soon as you can. There you will meet some of your fellow members and find out what a great, friendly group of people we are. Then stick around after the meeting, and take a look at the other Miatas in the parking lot and then plan to come to lunch. Make a Miata Day of it!
Another way of getting involved as a new member is to come out on a tour. Just check the Club Calendar here or in Miata Miles and find the next touring event that suits your schedule. It might be a TGIF, where we do shorter runs over 2-3 hours on Friday evenings, or it might be a Saturday or Sunday day tour, or one of our 2-3 day overnight tours (usually organized around a long weekend). You don’t have to let anyone know that you are coming on most day or evening tours, but you do have to for the weekend tours, because of hotel bookings etc. Don’t worry - the calendar has all the necessary instructions, including starting points and times.
As a new member, we also encourage you to get a CB Radio, since CB radio communication between car passengers is our main way of coordinating things when you are on a tour. There are many inexpensive but effective units – most members have one.
Also, as a new member, we are very interested in what you want as well. If you have any ideas for tour destinations or general comments on how to improve the club in any way, please let the Executive know. New members always bring a fresh and creative perspective to things – so let us know what you think!
If you have any questions about anything at all, just ask anyone on the Executive (emails and phone numbers are provided on the Club Executive Page).
And remember - there are no silly questions!
So – once again, welcome to the Trillium Miata family! We look forward to sharing your love and passion for the world’s best sports car!
Tours & Meetings are open to non-members. Just come on out! You'll find every generation of Miata and driver.
