I'm back from Barbados and found this in my in basket! Probably a bit too far away for most people but why not at least talk about it as an extravagant tour at the March meeting?

Time to start planning for 2017!
We thought you'd all like a brief re-cap of our 2016 event, and to also learn what we have in store for you in 2017, which this year is scheduled for the weekend of 6-8 October.
2016 Re-cap What a fantastic weekend! It seems like we say this every year, but the event just keeps getting better and better. We use the term "our" because this has truly become an amazing gathering of Miata owners and enthusiasts from all over, and so it truly is "our" event. We have a whole group of incredible volunteers who work hard to make everything happen, but in the end the success of our events depends hugely on the positive attitudes and participation of everyone. And of course none of this would have been possible without the superb support of Mazda North American Operations and their team.
The numbers: The event kicked off with the ever popular Friday Moss Miata BBQ and Car Show at Embassy Suites with over 500 people attending. Thanks to Moss and our great crew for all their hard work, resulting in another awesome BBQ. This year we had over 900 individuals and 700 Miatas, with 225 drivers taking part in the Hot Lap sessions. We had another impressive photo shoot from the helicopter to commemorate the Millionth Miata, followed by parade laps with over 300 cars and the enjoyable Moss Miata group drive of the gorgeous Monterey area. The Saturday Big Bash Party sold out with 400 people attending, with abundant delicious food and a good time had by all thanks to Red Beans & Rice, the live band sponsored by our good friends at Flyin' Miata.
The images: We had lots of photos and video being taken all weekend, including in-car and helicopter footage. We've provided some links for you to take a trip down memory lane, or get a more up-close-and-personal feel for the event itself as well as some of your fellow Miata enthusiasts and what makes them tick.
