Theme: This tour is all about the roads. I start by looking for the twistiest roads I can find within a two day drive of Toronto - the narrower and more mountainous the better. Those roads are then connected into a route with as little superslab travel as possible. Hotels and restaurants are the last consideration, though I try to find interesting options. The route is pre-run to ensure that there is no gravel. See "Description" tab for more. Meet up point for the tour start is at the Service Station, off the QEW, at the Casa Blanca exit- Grimsby
Complete Event Description:
Itinerary: We will be touring through New York and Pennsylvania. The meetup spot this year will be the service station, off the QEW at the Casablanca exit, Grimsby at 8am. We will hit the road by 9am on Saturday and Sunday as well. The morning on the first day will be mostly highway driving with the twisties beginning after lunch. In the mid-afternoon, I usually incorporate a break - last year we stopped for an hour at the Rim Rock Lookout and participants had the choice of going for a hike or relaxing on the beach. There is a second break around 6:30pm for dinner. The routes will be organized to get us to the hotel around 9:30pm. Nonetheless, please be prepared for 8hrs of driving a day.
Costs: The only costs will be hotel, gas, and food. The hotel cost last year was $120USD/night and I would expect it to be in the same ballpark this year.
Registration will be capped at 12 cars, including myself - that's two groups of six cars.
Starting at the Service station ,off the QEW, at the Casa Blanca exit- Grimsby
Deadline for registration: Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 12:30pm
Spots Remaining: 12 cars
