Complete Event Description:
We leave from Port Perry (Tim's located at 1889 Scugog Street - also called Hwy 7a) and return 350 km later. This is a full-day tour, and is open to members only. If you've been hesitant about joining the club on one of our long-weekend out-of-town tours, this is the tour for you! It's basically a mini-vermont trip.
Full of pretty b-roads and full-speed a-roads, there's a little bit of everything and it's amazing how similar the scenery is to vermont. Shorter mountains, but the same long-running farm roads, tree-enclosed b-roads, and every road that we don't take is gravel. That's right, we spent all day today navigating to avoid the gravel roads. Count how long it takes until the first cow. Like our multi-day tours, by the end it's been a long and fun tour.
1000: drivers' meeting in Port Perry Tim Horton's (by the lake)
1030: leave Port Perry (bye bye lake)
1115: 10 minute outdoor break, benches, public bathrooms, roadside restaurants (by the lake)
1315: 1 hour lunch in Hastings, small town, multiple small restaurants including a fish and chips, a grill, ice cream, and a subway (by the lake)
1415: back on the road, by the lake
1515: 10 minute ice cream stop, by the lake
1700: return to Port Perry, by the lake.
